Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Security Cam (“we”, “the app”, securitycam.cc) handles information when you use our mobile application and related website services.
1. Who this app is for
Security Cam is intended for people who have the legal right to record (for example their home or property). It is not directed at children as end users. The app does not create user accounts.
2. Summary
- We do not create a cloud archive of your camera video for storage or playback.
- Live video and audio are designed to travel peer-to-peer (WebRTC) between your devices when the network allows.
- A small signaling service helps devices find each other (PIN / session setup). It is not a media recording archive.
- Optional TURN relay may temporarily forward encrypted media when a direct peer-to-peer path is not available (for example mobile data or different Wi‑Fi networks). Media is not stored as a recording archive.
- We do not sell your personal data.
3. Information the app uses
3.1 On your device
- Camera and microphone — to stream live video/audio between paired devices (with your permission).
- Local settings — for example signaling URL and optional TURN credentials you enter (stored on device via app preferences).
- Local recordings — optional clips you start from the Viewer. On a phone Viewer they save to Photos / Gallery on the Camera phone. On Windows or Mac you choose the Camera gallery or a folder on this computer.
- Network state — needed to establish and maintain the connection.
- Foreground / keep-awake behavior — so a Camera or Viewer can stay active while monitoring.
3.2 Signaling (connection setup)
To pair a Camera and a Viewer, devices exchange short-lived session messages (for example room PIN, WebRTC offers/answers, and ICE candidates) through our signaling service.
Signaling data is used only to establish or restore a session. It is not intended as a permanent library of your video. Standard server logs (for example timestamps, IP addresses, request metadata) may be created by hosting infrastructure for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.
3.3 STUN / TURN
Public STUN servers may be used to help devices discover network paths. When a direct peer-to-peer path is not available, encrypted media may be relayed through our TURN service (for example some mobile-data or cross-network scenarios). Relayed media is used only to deliver the live session — not to create a cloud video library.
3.4 Website
Visiting securitycam.cc may generate ordinary web-server logs (IP address, browser user-agent, pages requested, time). We use this for security and site operations. We also use Statcounter (invisible counter) to understand basic traffic (for example page views and referrers). Statcounter may process technical data such as IP address and browser information under its own privacy policy. We do not use advertising trackers on the marketing site as of the date above.
4. Permissions
Depending on platform and role, the app may request:
- Camera
- Microphone
- Notifications (alerts)
- Foreground service / battery exemptions where required by Android to keep monitoring running
You can revoke permissions in system settings; some features will then stop working.
5. Children & sensitive monitoring
You are responsible for using the app lawfully. Do not use Security Cam to secretly monitor people who have not consented, or where recording is not allowed.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell personal data. Limited processing may involve:
- Hosting providers that run the website / signaling infrastructure
- App stores (Google Play / Apple) under their own terms when you download the app
- A TURN provider you choose or that we operate in the future (disclosed in-app / here when live)
7. Retention
- On-device settings and local timeline data remain until you clear app data or uninstall.
- Signaling messages are transient for session setup; hosting logs are retained only as needed for operations and security.
- We do not operate a cloud camera-video archive.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical measures appropriate for a small consumer app. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Prefer a trusted Wi‑Fi network, keep devices updated, and protect your pairing PIN.
9. International users
If you use the app outside the country where our hosting is located, signaling or website traffic may cross borders. By using the app you understand this technical necessity for connectivity.
10. Your choices
- Change or clear signaling / TURN settings in the app.
- Clear local timeline data in the app (where available).
- Uninstall the app to remove local app data (subject to OS behavior).
- Contact us for privacy questions:
11. No accounts
Security Cam does not require creating an online account with us. There is no cloud profile to delete. Uninstalling the app removes the local installation; contact support if you need help with residual questions.
12. Changes
We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
